Drawing inspiration from children's wood blocks, I wanted to redesign household lamps to be more playful and invite interaction with the user. The geometric lamp shapes can be stacked in a variety of different orientations to adjust the light and overall shape to fit the user's preferences
I started by modeling my shapes in Rhino, and then 3D printed them at a smaller scale.
I added a slot to hold a battery- powered light, and I reduced the wall thickness of certain edges to create windows for light to pass through. This way the lights create striking compositions when they are stacked in different configurations.
